Four Schweinfurt-based Army battalions have announced recent changes of command. They are:

¶ Lt. Col. Kyle McClelland replaced Lt. Col. Gerald Galloway as commander of 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery, on July 10. A native of Massachusetts, McClelland was most recently operations officer for Task Force Falcon in Kosovo. Galloway has moved to Arlington, Va., where he serves as the G-8 at the Pentagon.

¶ Lt. Col. Blair Schantz replaced Lt. Col. Nathaniel Idlet as commander of the 9th Engineer Battalion, on July 9. In 2001, Schantz served as the deputy brigade commander to the 20th Engineer Brigade (Airborne), and then as assistant corps engineer, XVIII Airborne Corps, at Fort Bragg, N.C. Idlet has moved to Heidelberg, Germany, where he will be assistant corps engineer of the V Corps.

¶ Lt. Col. Jeffrey Sinclair replaced Lt. Col. Robert Botters as commander of the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, on June 24. Sinclair was recently a brigade executive officer in the 82nd Airborne Division and task force executive officer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Botters has moved to Heidelberg, where he is assigned to V Corps.

¶ Lt. Col. Kirk Allen replaced Lt. Col. Wayne Grigsby as commander of 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, in June. Allen previously served with the U.S. Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Va. Grigsby has relocated to Würzburg, Germany, where he will serve as assistant chief of staff G3 of the 1st Infantry division.
