MANAMA, Bahrain — The sailor who allegedly killed two female sailors in a barracks on a base in Bahrain before turning the gun on himself remained in critical condition Wednesday.

The Navy has not released the name of the sailor or charged him with a crime. He remains hospitalized at an off-base hospital under security.

The base has tentatively scheduled a memorial service on Sunday for the two slain sailors, Seamen Anamarie Sannicolas Camacho, 20, of Panama City, Fla., and Genesia Mattril Gresham, 19, of Lithonia, Ga.
