BAMBERG, Germany — In a free evening of entertainment at several military bases in Europe, audiences could hear from the likes of the former and current President Bushes, Jimmy Carter, Jack Nicholson and Arnold Schwarzenegger when master impersonator Rich Little takes the stage.

With a repertoire of hundreds of celebrity voices, Little will entertain military audiences in Europe as part of a USO and Installation Management Agency-Europe Entertainment tour starting Dec. 9 in Vilseck, said Jim Sohre, IMA-E Entertainment director.

Little was a regular on “The Tonight Show” in the 1970s when Johnny Carson was host and appeared in many films and television specials, according to the Internet Movie Database.

While many of the younger audience members may not remember his numerous TV appearances in the 1970s and ’80s, they will recognize the voices, Sohre said.

“He imitates so many legendary performers from classic actors to actors of today,” Sohre said. “I think he has really, really good appeal. While younger servicemembers and family members may not know of him, they will certainly know who he is impersonating.”

“We got a lot of positive feedback from the Mediterranean visit last year,” Sohre said. “He wanted to do something for the troops again this year.”

Little is expected to conduct meet-and-greet sessions after his performances, Sohre said.

“It’s wonderful of Rich Little to do a 75- to 90-minute performance for free,” said Brad Cline, chief of the Community Activities Center for Bamberg’s Warner Barracks and organizer of the Little visit there. “I think he’s the biggest entertainer we’ve had (in Bamberg). He is extremely talented, and we’re lucky to have him.”
