Ramstein units round up rodeo awards
The 86th Airlift Wing and the 721st Air Mobility Operations Group, both based at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, took awards at an air mobility competition at McChord Air Force Base, Wash.
Rodeo 2005 involved more than 100 teams from the U.S. Air Force and other nations in a competition last month that included airdrops, air refueling, aeromedical evacuations, and short-field landings, according to an Air Mobility Command headquarters press release.
The 86th Airlift Wing received awards for the best aeromedical endurance course, best C-130 short-field landing, and best aeromedical unit.
The 721st Air Mobility Operations Group earned the aware for best enroute engine running offload team.
The 6th Air Mobility Wing, based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., received the award for the best air mobility wing, while the 60th Air Mobility Wing from Travis Air Force Base, Calif., received 13 awards.
The competition was June 19-24 and was the first time the event has been held since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
