KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Carole Hubbell, a Defense Department schools employee for 20 years, died Monday after a brief illness.

Hubbell, who served as Ramstein High School’s secretary at the time of her death, was 62.

Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe said in a news release that Hubbell died at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the Hubbell family, their loved ones and their friends,” DODDS-Europe said in the release.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; their son, Greg; and their daughter, Amy Kirsch, and her children. Jerry Hubbell is an educator at Ramstein High.

Carole Hubbell served at Thomas A. Roberts Elementary School in Berlin from 1987 to 1994 and Ramstein Elementary School from 1994 to 1995. She arrived at Ramstein High in 1995.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Southside Chapel on Ramstein Air Base.
