The Department of Defense announced Monday that Brig. Gen. James P. Hunt has been named director of air and space operations for U.S. Air Forces in Europe at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Hunt currently serves as deputy director for force application with the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
Maj. Gen. Bob D. DuLaney, the current director of USAFE air and space operations, is retiring, effective Jan. 1.
Air and space operations is responsible for training, tactics, air and space control, air battle management, requirements and weather programs for the U.S. European Command’s air component, according to DuLaney’s biography. The director plans and conducts air and space operations in support of joint and combined exercises, simulations, joint task force training, and theater security cooperation, according to the bio.
