Ramstein airman killed in traffic accident
RAMSTEIN, Germany — An active-duty Air Force member assigned to Ramstein Air Base died in a traffic accident at about 3 a.m. Friday.
The woman was driving on Autobahn 63 in the direction of Winnweiler when her vehicle struck a tractor-trailer, according to a 435th Air Base Wing news release. U.S. and German emergency teams responded to the scene where the airman was pronounced dead.
The name and other information about the airman are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The accident is under investigation by the German police and the 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron, the release stated.
