RAF ALCONBURY, England — An Army sergeant was sentenced to three months behind bars and will receive a bad-conduct discharge after being convicted of inappropriate sexual behavior with a minor.

Sgt. Jechariah Smith was sentenced by an Army judge to be reduced to the lowest enlisted grade following his Sept. 8 court-martial, RAF Alconbury spokesman Master Sgt. Rich Romero said.

Smith was assigned to the Joint Analysis Center at RAF Molesworth, the European Command’s intelligence headquarters.

He was convicted of carnal knowledge with a minor, violating his commander’s no-contact order and dereliction of duty for having a minor in his dorm room, Romero said. Smith pleaded guilty to all charges, Romero said.
