Racial graffiti at Osan painted over; woman not charged
SEOUL — Songtan police said a heartbroken South Korean woman spray-painted racial slurs on a shopping street outside Osan Air Base on Nov. 16.
The woman had broken up with her U.S. military boyfriend, police officer Kim Young-bae said Monday.
The incident was reported to base security forces and 51st Fighter Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Joseph Reynes, said Osan spokesman Maj. David Smith.
An off-base contractor that works with the Military Equal Opportunity Office covered the graffiti, Smith said.
Korean police said they will not charge the woman.
