CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea — About 30 people showed up at Camp Red Cloud’s main gate Friday afternoon to protest U.S. and South Korean plans to expand the U.S. military footprint at Pyeongtaek, near Osan Air Base south of Seoul.

The plan also calls for most bases north of Seoul to close and for overall U.S. troop strength to drop to 25,000 servicemembers on the peninsula.
