SEOUL — U.S. military bases around the peninsula are offering their communities plenty of ways to usher in the New Year.

While most focus on the traditional party — with champagne toasts and countdowns — there also are fun runs, casino-themed nights and tours to choose from. All events are Monday evening unless otherwise noted.

The following information was available as of deadline Thursday:

Camp Red CloudCG’s Mess — Hosting a Black and White New Year’s Eve Party. Doors open at 9 p.m., $5 for members, $10 for nonmembers. Cover includes snacks, breakfast, champagne toast and party favors. Call 1st Lt. Joyce-Charisse Jordan at DSN 732-7430 or cell number 011-741-5246.

Mitchell’s — Party starts at 9 p.m., no fee. Includes free prizes, DJ music, party favors and champagne toast at midnight. Breakfast will be offered for a fee.

Camp HoveyIron Triangle Club — Free party begins at 10 p.m. Includes music, snacks, party favors and champagne. Call 730-5166.

Camp CaseyGateway Club — Free party includes professional DJ, party favors and champagne toast. Breakfast offered for a fee. Call 730-6540.

Warrior’s Club — Free party begins in the ballroom at 9 p.m. and special dinner served in dining room at 9 p.m. Breakfast offered for a fee beginning at midnight in Nap’s Lounge. Call 730-2193.

Reggie’s — Midnight breakfast offered for a fee. Call 730-4511.

“Warrior Country” soccer and basketball tournaments over the weekend at the Carey Fitness Center and Hanson Field House. Call 732-6927 or 730-4681.

Camp HumphreysGourmet dinner at Alaska Mining Company from 6 to 10 p.m., offered at a fee. Call 754-3101.

Party at Tommy D’s from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. The $10 fee covers party and breakfast buffet. Call 753-8191.

Yongsan GarrisonNavy Club — “Spirit of America” riverboat casino-themed party from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., featuring the Taste of Jazz band and DJ. The $30 ticket includes buffet, $50 in play money for casino games, champagne toast, key chain and souvenir glass. Additional play money for the casino games can be purchased, and the winnings will be used in a midnight auction for such prizes as a flat-screen television, local hotel package and the grand prize trip for two to Thailand. Dragon Hill Lodge — Beach Party, doors open at 8 p.m. Different areas are offering different parties: ’70s and ’80s music in Bentley’s Pub; American Forces Network and Top 40 on the mezzanine and in the sunken lobby; Latin Express in the Oasis and the lower lobby; country-western music in Whispers and Greenstreet; and R&B in the ballroom. People are invited to roam from party to party, and the $49 ticket comes with a lei, party hat, noisemaker, midnight champagne toast and free snacks. Call 738-2222.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. party begins at 9 p.m. in the Main Post Club. Proceeds go toward scholarships presented at the Black and Gold Scholarship Ball in the spring. A live band plays at 9:30 p.m. with a variety of music to include salsa, reggae, R&B and hip-hop. There is a prize drawing every hour, free champagne at midnight, two buffets and party favors. Yongsan Lanes bowling extravaganza from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. features colorama open bowling, no-tap tournament and cosmic bowling. A pizza buffet is available from 10 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults and $30 for children under 12. Call 723-7830.

Saturday to Monday

Dragon Valley Ski Resort trip for $290. Cost includes transportation, lift tickets and accommodations. Rental equipment is available for $15 per day at outdoor recreation. Call 782-4938.
