KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — Cake decorating to comic book collecting: The Schilling Community Center has announced events and classes aimed at a spectrum of interests this January:

• Ten games of family bingo will be offered Jan. 10, with cards going on sale at 1 p.m. and the first game at 2 p.m.• Comic books, cards and other collectibles can be bought, traded or sold at the Card and Comic Show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 17. Vendor tables are $5 and are will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to the show is free.• The Tabletop Warriors Club meets at the center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Saturday. A variety of games are played, including Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Battletech, Dungeons and Dragons, and Magic the Gathering. If you don’t know how to play, someone will help you learn.• A one-day-only Home-Based Business Show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31. Vendor spots are available for $15 on a first-come, first-served basis. Signup for the spots will begin Jan. 5.• Five- to 18-year-olds can discover the Kumon method of learning mathematics at 40-minute sessions Wednesdays and Fridays. Kumon is an individualized method aimed at helping children excel in math and develop superior study habits.• Okinawan dance is being taught Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The traditional expressive dance forms are unique to the island.• Salsa dances will be taught to those 18 and older Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginner classes are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; advanced, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. To be taught are salsa and mambo dance steps, partners turn patterns and perform solo footwork.• Japanese customs, culture and practical conversation will be taught at the Japanese Conversation class from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays. The class is for those 18 and older.• A new Japanese calligraphy class is being offered to those 18 and older from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays.• A cake decorating class will be taught from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. This class also is for those 18 and older.
