SEOUL — The 1,200 soldiers and civilians at K-16 Air Base in Seoul could find themselves lounging poolside before the end of the summer, a U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan spokesman said Thursday.
Plans for the 20-meter, five-lane pool already have been approved, said Dave McNally. He said Contracting Command Korea was slated to approve construction.
Work is to last about six months.
McNally said the indoor pool will be open year-round.
The $750,000 project is funded by Morale, Welfare and Recreation, McNally said.
He said the pool will be similar to the one on Yongsan Garrison’s main post.
