RHEIN-MAIN AIR BASE, Germany — Seven Patriot Express flights scheduled to depart Atlanta and Baltimore-Washington International airports for Rhein-Main, Mildenhall, and Aviano air bases, along with their corresponding return flights, have been canceled from Sunday through Feb. 24.

The flights were canceled because U.S. Transportation Command, which runs the Patriot Express, needs the planes for other missions, including troop movements.

Passengers on these missions will be rebooked on other military flights if available or on commercial flights, according to a Rhein-Main Air Base news release.

The cancellations will affect about 150 passengers.

Canceled mission numbers are BKAVLV1/2 00043, BKAVLV1/2 00050, BKBXL19/20 00045, BKBXL19/20 00052, BKAVL37/38 00040, BKAWL37/38 00054, and BKRVLQ7/8 00046.

The Air Force is trying to contact each passenger affected by the cancellations, the release stated. Messages have been sent out to the services and carriers have been contacted to find out seat and pet space availability.

Passengers scheduled to fly on Patriot Express between Sunday and Feb. 24 should contact the transportation agency that originally booked the tickets to determine if the flight is one of the seven affected, the release stated.
