Patch special education teacher dies

Carol Hirsch, who spent the last 13 years as the special education teacher at Patch Elementary School in Stuttgart, Germany, died Wednesday. She was 56.
Hirsch started working for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in 1974, according to a DODDS news release. Before working at Patch, she was the special education teacher at the now-closed Ludwigsburg Elementary School.
Hirsch, who died in Bietigheim, is survived by her daughters, Susanne and Alexandra. Memorial services have not been set.
