Andersen Air Force Base airman found dead in quarters in Guam

An airman was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in base quarters at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam on Wednesday.

The unidentified airman was found in their quarters just before 3:30 p.m., the 36th Wing said in a statement.

The airman’s name was being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification, in keeping with Air Force policy, it said.

The cause of death was under investigation. No further details about the incident were provided.

Chaplains, mental health personnel and counselors were available to assist base personnel, it said.
