Air Force identifies Yokota civilian worker who died off base

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The Air Force has identified a member of its civilian workforce who died off base in Japan this week.
“Allen M. Tesch, a civilian employed by the 374th Force Support Squadron and retired Air Force Technical Sergeant, was pronounced dead on [Tuesday] after being found unresponsive off base,” officials at Yokota in western Tokyo said in a statement Thursday.
Tesch was taken by Japanese emergency services to a civilian hospital where he was pronounced dead, the statement said. The cause of death is under investigation.
Tesch served as assistant manager of vehicle operations, according to the Yokota Force Support Squadron website.
“We mourn the loss of Mr. Tesch,” Col. Kenneth Moss, 374th Airlift Wing commander said in the statement. “He was a valued member of our team and his contributions and presence will be missed. Our prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Yokota is home to U.S Forces Japan and the 5th Air Force.
