OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — Col. Thomas H. Deale, commander of Osan’s 51st Fighter Wing, will head to the Pentagon next month to become director of the Colonel Management Program, wing spokesman 1st Lt. Chris Hoyler said Thursday.
The program handles personnel actions, education and development opportunities and command selections for more than 4,000 active-duty colonels and colonels-select.
Deale is to be replaced by Col. Patrick Malackowski during a Dec. 7 ceremony at Osan. Malackowski currently commands the 57th Operations Group at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.
Malackowski is a 1986 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and a command pilot with more than 3,100 hours in the A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack aircraft, Hoyler said.
The Osan wing flies the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the A-10.
