OSAN AIR BASE, South Korea — Fighter jets from Osan Air Base will take part this week in Commando Sling, an annual air war exercise with the Singapore Air Force.
The training runs from Friday through Feb. 23 at Paya Lebar Air Base, Singapore, according to a Pacific Air Forces news release.
Six F-16 Fighting Falcons from Osan’s 36th Fighter Squadron and their Royal Singapore Air Force counterparts will conduct air-to-air missions against one another.
The training represents one of four deployments that make up Commando Sling, which runs from late October 2008 through April, according to the release.
Kusan Air Base to hold post-traumatic stress seminarA seminar at Kunsan Air Base on the symptoms and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder is set for noon Thursday at the base’s Loring Club.
The 8th Fighter Wing’s mental health officer, Maj. Nicholas Marshall, and wing chaplain Capt. Alexander Polomaria are to conduct the seminar.
It will be geared toward those who might have suffered traumatic events in combat or noncombat situations. It will also be aimed at commanders, supervisors and others who may want more information about PTSD.

8th U.S. Army Band will be performing in DaeguPYEONGTAEK, South Korea — The 8th U.S. Army Band is to perform a New Year’s concert in Daegu Thursday at the Susong Artpia in Daegu.
The 7:30 p.m. concert is open to local citizens and members of the U.S. military community.
Tickets are available for U.S. servicemembers at Camp Henry’s community relations office on the second floor of Building 1501.
Tickets for the Korean public are available on first-come, first-serve basis at the concert hall.
Also scheduled are Korean guest musicians, tenor Ryu Jae-hyon and pop singer Kim Min-kyo.
