KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — An online tracking system intended to ease the moving process will launch Monday at Kadena Air Base.
The Defense Personal Property System will allow servicemembers to work directly with their moving company to coordinate the move and track their belongings, Senior Master Sgt. Colleen Curl, element chief for the 18th Logistic Readiness Squadron, said in an e-mail to Stars and Stripes.
The squadron’s personal property element will oversee the program.
The Web-based program — available at www.move.mil — is being rolled out at installations worldwide.
The system initially will be available to servicemembers with household goods pick-up dates after May 15 due to the rate of cycle for moving companies, Curl said.
Temporary restrictions have been placed on certain destination bases and types of shipments until technical issues can be resolved, Curl said.
