STUTTGART, Germany — Command Master Chief Crispian D. Addington was named Monday as the new senior enlisted leader at U.S. European Command, the Pentagon announced.

Addington currently serves as the 7th Fleet command master chief in Yokosuka, Japan. At EUCOM, he will serve as the top enlisted adviser to the commander of EUCOM, a job that involves everything from ensuring the welfare of U.S. troops stationed in Europe to strengthening partnerships with NATO allies.

Addington replaces Chief Master Sgt. Craig A. Adams, who was relieved of duty in September because of loss of confidence in his abilities.

Since Adams’ departure, Chief Master Sgt. James E. Davis, the top enlisted leader at U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, has filled in as EUCOM’s top enlisted official.
