Marine Corps Brig. Gen. William D. Beydler launched what is being called a controversial public service announcement against the use of the synthetic drug Spice -- a PSA that calls on troops to report fellow troops, according to a story and broadcast by KGTV out of San Diego.
Since October 2009, 3,100 Marines have been discharged for drug use, and a growing number of Marines and sailors are turning to Spice because it cannot be detected by standard drug tests, KGTV reports.
The new PSA is aimed at combating Spice use among military members.
