CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — A bigger and better shopping-mall complex is to open at Camp Hansen, according to Army and Air Force Exchange Service officials.

The grand-opening ceremony for the new mall, next to the base theater and behind the bowling alley, is to be at 10 a.m. Monday.

Construction began in July.

With 11,000 square feet of floor space, the exchange in the new mall is more than twice the size of the old Hansen exchange, said Jerry Broccoli, an Okinawa Exchange general manager.

The total mall complex covers about 58,000 square feet and includes a food court, barber shop, dry cleaning and several other concessions, he said.

The main exchange will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Concessions will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and close Sundays.

The food court will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, but hours vary by food facility.
