SEOUL — The South Korea chapter of the Non Commissioned Officers Association has again topped its global competition in the award for chapter of the year.

Dragon Hill Chapter 1507 was named the 2008 Outstanding Large Chapter of the Year at the association’s national convention in Las Vegas this month.

It marks the fourth consecutive year the chapter has won the honor. “This says a lot for our sponsors and it’s icing on the cake for what we do,” said Joe Terry, chapter chairman. The chapter was recognized for sponsoring many servicemember programs, civic and school organizations, and community charities.

The association is comprised of divisions for active-duty non-commissioned officers of all branches of the military, junior enlisted members, veterans, retirees and spouses. It has more than 65,000 members and 64 chapters worldwide.

Other 2008 award winners were the Shooting Stars Auxiliary Chapter from Sterling Heights, Mich., for outstanding small chapter; and the Spirit of Sacramento Auxiliary from Sacramento, Calif., for auxiliary chapter of the year.
