WASHINGTON — A Navy jet crashed late Sunday during a training flight over South Texas, the service reported Monday.

The T-45 Goshawk trainer jet was assigned to Training Squadron 21 at Naval Air Station Kingsville, but had two Marine Corps aircrew on board, according to a defense official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Both pilots were able to eject and were being treated at a local hospital, the Navy said.

Their names were being withheld for privacy reasons, the Navy said.
