NAVAL BASE GUAM — The Navy Exchange public car wash at Naval Base Guam reopened Friday after the base relaxed water conservation measures, the Navy said.

The Fena reservoir had rebounded from low levels that triggered a ban on all car washing, as well as tight restrictions on other water use, according to a news release.

Base residents are now allowed to wash vehicles once a month but are still restricted from washing down driveways and paved areas.

The Navy urged residents to run washers only when full, avoid running water while washing dishes and flush toilets only when necessary.
