WASHINGTON — The USO of Metropolitan Washington will open a new military lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Virginia next year, thanks in part to a $125,000 donation from CACI International.

The money, presented Tuesday in a ceremony at the airport, will help pay not only for equipment in the lounge but also for ongoing operations there.

Adrienne Trout, spokeswoman for USO-Metro, said officials plan to hire several staff for the lounge to help servicemembers with baggage storage, free Internet access and other available services.

USO-Metro currently operates lounges for troops at Dulles International Airport, Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Andrews Air Force Base and Reagan airport. Trout said the current 400-square-foot Reagan facility is the smallest, and the new facility — set to open in February — will be double the size.

The group is funded solely with donations, Trout said, and space at the airports is donated by local municipal authorities.
