Naples kiosk allows for quicker mailings
NAPLES, Italy — Avoiding long post office lines to mail holiday packages is possible now that a mail kiosk has been installed at the Navy Exchange Cyber Net Cafe at the Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy, support site base.
The kiosk allows mailers to weigh packages, pay for postage, print shipping labels and complete customs forms, all from a computer.
The Click-N-Ship online self-service postal mailing service is offered through the U.S. Postal Service and is available to Naples-based customers, officials said.
“We are very pleased to be able to provide this self-service product to the community during this holiday season,” Vera Pierro, NEX quality-of-life concessionaire supervisor, said in a statement. “We hope that customers will take advantage of this wonderful capability that should reduce some of the time spent mailing out packages to their family and friends around the world.”
Military-run post offices at Naples’ three bases — the support site, Capodichino and Joint Force Command in Bagnoli — have windows dedicated for customers to drop off packages they’ve prepared at the kiosk.
The Fleet Industrial Support Center Sigonella provided forms, labeling supplies and scale for the NEX kiosk.
Click-N-Ship packages can be dropped off at the support site post office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, and at the Capodichino and JFC post offices from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
