MONS, Belgium — Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Gerald R. Murray will be the guest speaker Saturday at the SHAPE 2005 U.S. Air Force Annual Awards Banquet.

Senior leaders assigned to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe gather every year to recognize outstanding U.S. airmen. This year’s banquet will honor 28 individuals, ranging from young airman to field grade officers.

Given the nature of SHAPE, “it won’t be just Air Force personnel there, but a wide spectrum of people,” said Senior Master Sgt. Kevin J. Jurgella, one of the banquet’s organizers.

Currently, more than 230 people are scheduled to attend, with Murray being among the most noteworthy. Murray announced in January he would retire later this year.

Saturday’s banquet will be held at the SHAPE Officer’s Club. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. Ticket prices range from $10 to $30, depending on rank. The required military dress is semi-formal.

For more information, call Jurgella at DSN 423-2655, or civilian at 0032-6544-2655.
