Misawa and Yokota air bases in Japan hosted the first-ever bilateral U.S. Air Force First Sergeant Symposium last week.

At Misawa, 58 U.S. and Japanese senior enlisted leaders participated in academics and training to learn how first sergeants can better care for their junior enlisted troops and commanders, base officials said in a news release.

Military officials said it marked the first time the symposium included the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, which is implementing its own first sergeant’s program.
