MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — The Caribbean American Heritage Month committee at Misawa has planned events for throughout June to honor the history and culture of Caribbean people.

Kicking things off, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service will host a Caribbean American Heritage Month ceremony in the exchange foyer from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

On June 16, Caribbean cultural stories will be read from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. as part of the Cheli School-age Program for kids from kindergarten to sixth grade.

The Mokuteki Community Center has planned a Caribbean food sampling for June 18. Organizers said further details will be announced.

The Lunney Youth Center has scheduled a movie and popcorn from 3:30 to 5 p.m. June 25.

And every Tuesday and Thursday in June, the American Forces Network radio station will feature Caribbean trivia and contests.
