WASHINGTON — The Military Order of the World Wars is looking for new members from the latest conflicts overseas to help carry on their charitable activities for years to come.

Officials with the group, open to commissioned and warrant officers from all of the military services, said membership has dwindled in recent years. The 80-year-old order is chartered by Congress and boasts Gen. John Pershing and Gen. Douglas Mac-Arthur as former members.

It is currently organizing the MOWW annual youth leadership conference, to be held this year at Pacific Lutheran University near Fort Lewis, Wash. The event features military, business and community leaders speaking to regional high school students on issues of civic responsibility and planning for the future. The group's national convention will be held July 29 in Columbus, Ga. For more information on that event or on enrollment, visit
