Soldiers from 6th Iraqi Army Division and Multi-National Division Baghdad detained 15 alleged terrorists in three events this past week, according to an Army press release.

On Tuesday, MND-B soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division detained two suspects in connection with a weapons cache south of Baghdad.

The same day, soldiers from 4th Brigade, 6th IAD detained two people who tried to drive through a traffic control point south of Baghdad with explosive material in their truck.

And 11 people were detained Wednesday after they allegedly fired from a mosque at a 4th Brigade, 6th IAD traffic control point south of Baghdad.

They were found with AK-47 rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade, according to the release.

Maj. Gen. Dennis E. Hardy, commanding general of the 24th Infantry Division (mechanized) at Fort Riley, Kan., has been assigned to deputy commanding general for the Coalition Forces Land Component Command at Camp Doha in Kuwait.

Maj. Gen. William H. McCoy Jr., commander with the Gulf Region Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Operation Iraqi Freedom, has been assigned to commanding general of the Army Maneuver Support Center and Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and commandant of the U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort Leonard Wood.

Assigned to replace McCoy is Brig. Gen. Michael J. Walsh, commander general of the Army Engineer Division, South Atlantic, in Atlanta.
