Two general officers with the 4th Infantry Division in Baghdad received new assignments, military officials announced Monday.
Brig. Gen. Allen W. Batschelet, who has served as chief of staff of the 4th Infantry Division (mechanized) and chief of staff of Multi-National Division–Baghdad, is being assigned to Fort Carson, Colo., according to a news release issued by the Pentagon. He will become the deputy commanding general of the 4th ID (mechanized).
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Robin P. Swan, deputy commanding general (support) of the 4th ID (mechanized) and deputy commanding general (support) for Multi-National Division–Baghdad, has been assigned director of strategy, plans and policy at the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army in Washington, D.C.
In other news, Brig. Gen. Donald C. Leins, commander (troop program unit) of the 2nd Battle Command Training Brigade, 75th Battle Command Training Division, with the U.S. Army Reserve in Fort Dix, N.J., has been assigned deputy commander of Joint Task Force — Horn of Africa.
