An Army soldier based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has died in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.

Capt. Jason B. Jones, 29, of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, died Monday in Jalalabad of wounds received from small arms, officials said in a statement.

Jones was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).

His death is under investigation. No other details were released.
