Anti-ISIS coalition servicemember dies in apparent noncombat incident

A servicemember supporting the coalition fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria died Wednesday in what the military said appears to be a noncombat incident.
Operation Inherent Resolve said Thursday that the incident is under investigation. The name and nationality of the servicemember, as well as the circumstances of the death, were being withheld.
It’s the second coalition servicemember death this year, both from apparent noncombat incidents.
The coalition typically announces troop deaths shortly after they happen but withholds names and some identifying details, leaving full identification to authorities from the servicemember’s home country — typically once family or next of kin have been notified.
