A memorial service will be held Nov. 2 at 10:45 a.m., at the chapel on Caserma Ederle, Italy, for a soldier from the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment who died Tuesday in Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Larry I. Rougle from West Jordan, Utah, was killed by small-arms fire, according to a release from the Southern European Task Force (Airborne). The 25-year-old soldier, assigned to the battalion’s Headquarters, Headquarters Company, was killed in action in Kunar province.

He is the 14th soldier based in Vicenza to die since the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team deployed to Afghanistan in May.
