A memorial ceremony will be held Monday in Vilseck, Germany, for a 2nd Cavalry (Stryker) Regiment soldier killed in action in Iraq.

The ceremony, for Spc. Aaron J. Walker, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Vilseck Chapel. Members of the community, friends and family are welcome to attend, according to a Joint Multinational Training Command statement.

Walker, 23, of Harker Heights, Texas, died Sept. 18 in Baghdad of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small-arms fire during combat operations, according to a Department of Defense news release.

Walker was assigned to the 2nd Cav’s 3rd Squadron, which, along with the rest of the brigade combat team, deployed to Iraq last month.
