Mattel recalls toy sold at AAFES stores
CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Mattel Inc. has recalled a toy that Army and Air Force Exchange Service stores sold from May 2003 until September, according to a news release Monday.
The Polly Pocket Magnetic Playsets, which come in eight styles, have magnets that can separate from the toy and could pose a hazard to small children if ingested.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports three cases of serious injury to children who swallowed the magnets.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately.
AAFES sold the following styles of Polly Pocket dolls and accessories with magnets:
Polly Pocket Quick Click Boutique, style No. G-8605.Polly Pocket Quick Click City Pretty Playset, style No. H1537.Polly Pocket Quick Click Sporty Playset, style No. H1538.Polly Pocket Totally Zen Play Set, style No. H3211.Other playsets under recall sold in the United States and elsewhere include Polly Pocket Polly Place Hangin’ Out House, style No. B-2632; Polly Pocket Polly Place Treetop Club, style No. B3158; Polly Pocket Spa Day, style No. B-3201; and Polly Pocket Place Totally Tiki Diner, style No. B-7118.
The model number can be found on the bottom of the largest pieces on some of the playsets.
