Justin Timberlake can add "best wingman ever" to his long list of talents.

Sgt. Scott Moore, serving in Afghanistan with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, posted a YouTube video last week asking actress Mila Kunis to be his date for the Marine Corps Ball.

Kunis was asked about the invitation by Fox 411 at the "Friends With Benefits" premiere this weekend. Encouraged by co-star Timberlake, she accepted.

In a statement issued by the 2nd Marine Division on Tuesday, Moore thanked Justin Timberlake for prodding Kunis into accepting Moore's offer.

"JT and I had this all planned from the start," Moore said in the statement. "He's been a great wingman; it's nice to know he can get over the jealously to help a brother out (just kidding).  Justin Timberlake's encouragement definitely helped; I owe him one."

Moore also said he made the video after a fellow Marine bet him that he wouldn't do it.

"Of course, a bet between Marines must be honored, so I took the chance," Moore said. "You can't make shots that you don't take, so I took the best shot I could."

The video was shot in two takes.

"The first one was without sunglasses but I was squinting too much because it was so bright, so we shot the one I uploaded to YouTube," he said.  "The rest of the Marines liked it, so I posted it that day."

Moore's fellow Marines and his family are excited for him.

"My dad said he can't wipe the smile off his face," he said.

The ball will take place Nov. 18 in Greenville, N.C.
