SEOUL — It’s turkey time across the Korean peninsula, and local bases are prepping the stoves, sports fields and bowling alleys.

Thanksgiving meals will be served at dozens of dining facilities on U.S. bases, and guests are invited to most. The dinners are free for those who dine there daily, but guests must pay a fee. Contact your dining facility for details on prices and times.

The following events are planned:

Chinhae Naval BaseThe Turtle Cove restaurant will serve a free meal from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day to all single and unaccompanied sailors, but reservations are mandatory. Call DSN 762-5350 to reserve and for guest price information.

Kunsan Air BaseA free BET Comedy Show will be held at the Loring Club at 8 p.m. Call DSN 782-7288/7855/2998.

Free bowling and shoes will be available at the Bowling Center from 11 a.m. to closing. Call DSN 782-7288.

Free rounds of golf will be offered from 7:30 a.m. to dusk. Call DSN 782- 7288.

Yongsan GarrisonThe Navy Club is offering a free dinner to all U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps personnel and their family members from noon to 2 p.m. Reservations are mandatory; call DSN 725-7731 or e-mail Single and unaccompanied personnel may bring one guest per person.

Camp CaseyThanksgiving lunch will be at the Pear Blossom Cottage from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Call DSN 730-3837.

Camp Red CloudThe “Lock-in” party will be 11 p.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday at Mitchell’s Club, sponsored by CRC Better Opportunities for Single and Unaccompanied Soldiers.

A Thanksgiving luncheon will offered from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Pear Blossom Cottage. Call DSN 732-7168.

A flag football tournament will be at Camp Red Cloud gym, beginning daily at 10 a.m. from Thursday to Saturday. Call DSN 732-6309.

A basketball tournament at Camp Red Cloud gym begins at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Call DSN 732-6309.

Camp StanleySnacks and refreshments will be available at the Pear Blossom Cottage at 4 p.m.

Camp HoveyThe best-dressed contest will be at the Hobson community activity center at 1 p.m. Friday. Call DSN 730-5124 for more information.

Camp Long and Camp EagleA “Turkey Hunt” for children of all ages and for soldiers is set for noon at the community activity centers on both camps. The goal is to find a paper turkey and win a prize. Call DSN 721-2543 for more information.
