A longtime teacher with the Department of Defense Dependents Schools died Sunday in Washington.

Cynthia Anne Cronkhite, 47, taught German at Lakenheath High School in England. The school was informed of the news by her brother and no cause of death was available. She is the fourth DODDS-Europe teacher to die this month.

Cronkhite had taught at the school since 2000 after five years at the middle school at RAF Feltwell. Before that, she had assignments in Kadena Air Base, Okinawa (1994-96), Soesterberg, the Netherlands (1989-94) and Naples, Italy (1987-89). All told, she put in more than 17 years in the DODDS system. She also taught French and Spanish.

She is survived by a daughter, Leelabeth Jule Chunyan Cron- khite, and a brother, Steve, of Bellingham, Wash. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Bible and Missionary Conference, 4605 Cable Street, Bellingham, Wash. 98229.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 1 at RAF Lakenheath.
