CAMP ZAMA, Japan — More than 350 students from Kanto Plain U.S. military and international schools are expected here Saturday for the Friendship Dance.

“The event is unique because it is the first of its kind and involves students all over the Kanto Plain to include the Japanese schools,” dance spokeswoman Angela Butler said Wednesday.

The dance, sponsored by the Kanto Plain Student Council, Zama American High School Student Council and Zama Youth Center, is set for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Zama Youth Center.

Tickets cost $5 per student.

Students are encouraged to buy tickets in advance from their high school.

Students from Sacred Heart, Seisen, St. Mary’s, Kinnick, Yokohama International School, American School in Japan, St. Maur, Yokota and Zama high schools will attend, Butler said.

“This is a unique opportunity for the students of the international community in the Kato Plain to meet and get to know each other on a social level,” Butler said. “There are natural curiosities the students have about each other’s experience in the different schools, and this will be an opportunity to get to know each and establish stronger bonds.”

Parents with questions should contact Zama American High School at DSN 263-3181.
