YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — A Japanese TV station is scheduled to come to Yokota’s Hangar 15 to host a game show involving servicemembers Sept. 8.

The TV show’s name is “Geinokai no kibishisa oshiemasu,” which means “I’ll teach you how tough show business is.”

Capt. Warren Comer, 374th Airlift Wing spokesman, said the Yokota contestants were chosen according to their ability to speak conversational Japanese. Thirty people from the base were selected to be in the audience on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Our hope is that people in Japan who normally watch entertainment television shows will gain an understanding of the base and the airmen that work here,” Comer said. “It allows us to not only highlight the mission here, but also show that our airmen are normal people that like to have a good time as well.”

The show will air on the Nippon Television Network. The airdate has not yet been determined.
