Italy transport workers set for strike
November 9, 2007
Public transportation in Italy could grind to a near halt Friday as workers plan an eight-hour strike on flights, trains and local city transportation from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Public bus systems have provided transportation during past strikes but at reduced frequency.
Future plans call for Alitalia pilots to strike on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A general public transportation strike could be held Nov. 30.
