The deadline for the Defense Department’s annual Overseas Housing Allowance survey for South Korea and Japan has been extended to May 11.

The survey collects expense data for overseas troops who live off post and is used to calculate future utility and maintenance allowances. Servicemembers who live off post and have received OHA for at least three months are encouraged to take the survey.

To provide accurate figures, servicemembers should collect all records and receipts to determine their average utility and recurring maintenance expenses. Troops whose utilities are included in their rent are not required to report the monthly average of their utility bills, because a monthly flat rate utility supplement is already included in their OHA.

The survey was originally scheduled to end on Tuesday.
