With the temperature in the 80s in the shade and much hotter in the sun, locals and tourists in Heidelberg, Germany, found different ways to enjoy the summer weather this week.
Some were sunbathing while others drifted down the Neckar River, cooling their feet in the water.
Children fooled around at the water playground on the river’s bank, as grownups enjoyed a drink at the city’s cafes.
Although a cool drink was refreshing, one of the most popular ways to beat the heat was with scoops of ice cream.
