Hornet’s Nest to reopen after $1.3 million makeover
The Hornet’s Nest at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is reopening this month after a $1.3 million renovation, including a new Wi-Fi network, air conditioning, plumbing, flooring and wall covering, base officials announced Friday.
The Hornet’s Nest is the home of the Single Marine Program, where single and unaccompanied servicemembers can relax when they’re off duty.
The air station will hold a grand opening party from 4 to 8 p.m. on July 30 for all single and unaccompanied servicemembers. It will include food, drinks, a disc jockey, door prizes, sumo wrestling matches and a variety of tournaments, including Texas Hold ‘em, billiards, Rock Band and Ping-Pong.
