Some of the Fourth of July events happening on Okinawa:

Kadena Air BaseA Fourth of July celebration is scheduled July 4 at Marek Park from 3 to 9 p.m. Entertainment includes family games, food booths, kids’ rides and giveaways. Parking will be available at the Olympic Mall, 4 Diamonds and the Education Center. Shuttles to the park will be available from Schilling and the Rocker. No pets or coolers.

Risner Fitness Center will hold an Independence Day 5K Fun Run on July 7. Sign up at the Sports Pro Shop, near the Tennis Center, by 7 a.m. the day of the event; the run starts at 7:30 a.m.

Camp ButlerThe Single Marine Program will host a dinner cruise departing Naha Port that will include dancing and karaoke on July 4. Transportation from and back to all camps will be provided by Marine Corps Community Services. For more information, call 645-3681.

Foster Bowling Center has scheduled a Pentathabowl for July 4. The tournament is to start at 3 p.m and there is a registration fee of $20. The event is open to all Department of Defense/SOFA personnel island-wide. For more information, call 645-7205.

The Foster Youth and Teen Center has scheduled a baseball clinic and barbeque July 3. For more information, call 645-8013.

OkumaOkuma will celebrate the Fourth of July weekend from July 6 to 8 with fireworks on July 7. Entertainment will include Maven, family games and Survivor Okuma.
