The Guam Air National Guard recognized its top enlisted personnel at a formal banquet at the Guam Marriott Hotel on Friday.

The 2005 Airman of the Year was Senior Airman Sid Guzman of the 254th Air Base Group; the 2005 Noncommissioned Officer of the Year was Technical Sgt. Randy Alegre of the 254th Services Flight; and the 2005 Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year was Master Sgt. Peter Toves.

About 350 people attended the event, where awards were presented by Guam Gov. Felix Camacho — whose daughter recently joined the unit — and by Guam National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Donald Goldhorn.

The Guam Air National Guard’s best also were recognized by the Guam legislature and were given prizes — including airline tickets — from members of the Guam Chamber of Commerce.
